Argentina finished 3rd in Pool J with a 1-2 record while Venezuela finished 4th at 0-3. Also in Pool J, Switzerland's Nina Betschart/Tanja Hüberli and Heather Bansley/Brandie Wilkerson of Canada are both 2-0.
Argentina will have to wait to see if it advances directly into the knockout phase or plays in a "lucky" loser match on Tuesday, 1 August to advance. Venezuela has been eliminated and finished 37th.
