Brazil has won all four FIVB World Tour meetings against Germany, including a pair of 2-1 wins in June at The Hague Three Star and the Porec Major Series and a 2-0 win at the Gstaad Major Series in July.
Brazil won Pool A with a 3-0 record and Germany finished in 3rd place at 1-2. Also in Pool A, Nicole Branagh/Emily Day of United States finished in 2nd place at 2-1 and Austria's Katharina Holzer/Teresa Strauss finished in 4th with a 0-3 record.
Brazil has advanced to the knockout phase and will play Wednesday, 2 August. Germany will have to wait to see if it advances directly into the knockout phase or plays in a "lucky" loser later today to advance.
