Camille Saxton, Canada – It’s been a long season for us so that (success in Australia) was a long time ago. But it for sure helped get us going as a team. Since then it’s been a grind playing against the world’s best in the 5-star and 4-star events so it’s been a learning thing. (On beating 2 two-time Olympians) It feels good. It’s pretty surreal. You go into every match hoping to win and preparing to win so we just played one point at a time and came out on top.”
Julie Gordon, Canada – “We’re both grinders, we work really hard. People have referred to us as workhorses so that’s really all we can do on the court, just work together and put effort into it. It’s a long season and this is the final boost of the season so we’re putting all of our energy into it. It’s awesome, we respect these two (Madelein Meppelink and Sophie van Gestel) so much. It is our first World Championships so we’re just settling in and gearing up for tomorrow against Agatha and Duda."
Madelein Meppelink, The Netherlands – “When we look in the past, we had good results and now we are back together. It takes a bit more time than maybe we expected. We’ve been unlucky with a couple of injuries so we couldn’t play a lot but we know it’s in there so we have a lot of trust and confidence for the future. We still miss a bit of game rhythm and we need to work on that and the only way is playing games.”
