We knew that their Beach Volleyball players are very athletic, but we just wanted to make the next round. That's why we played strong. They are strong team, but we are too! We know that she (Birlova) is a veteran player that has got a lot of experience and skills, but we did our best to make sure she did not get the ball.
Ekaterina Birlova, Russia – “We are disappointed. I don’t think my injury was a factor. We made a lot of mistakes because of the tension of the World Championships and what the game was for. We were having difficult passing. Also one of the players of the team is quite young. I didn’t feel the pressure much but perhaps she did.”
