It was the first FIVB World Tour meeting between the two teams.
The Czech Republic finished 3-0 to win Pool L and Austria finished in 2nd place at 2-1. Also in Pool L, Russia's Ekaterina Birlova/Nadezda Makroguzova finished in 3rd place at 1-2 and Varapatsorn Radarong/Tanarattha Udomchavee of Thailand finished in 4th at 0-3.
Both Austria and Czech Republic have advanced to the knockout phase and will play Wednesday, 2 August.
