Fins best South Americans 2-0

Riikka Lehtonen, Finland – “We have bad memories about those two European Championships we have been in and the start has always been bad. You could see at the beginning it was a little nervous from us but were much more relaxed and stayed focused for the game and then we found our rhythm little by little and that was really important. We are still far from our level but that was important that we stayed as a team. As we say in Finland, we can never leave the jacket open, like we really need to focus tomorrow as we do on Monday. It’s always a new game and you never know if somebody’s playing the game of their lives. If you are not making the simple things, you are not going to arrive at the difficult things.”

Taru Lahti, Finland – “We played really good as a team. We were together on the court and we talked about what we were doing so we were a really big team.”
