It was the first FIVB World Tour meeting between the two teams.
Glenzke/Grossner finished Pool D in 3rd place with a 1-2 record and Morocco, who had the misfortune of drawing into a pool with three teams from Germany finished in 4th place at 0-3. Also in Pool D, Germany's Laura Ludwig/Kira Walkenhorst finished with a 3-0 record and Karla Borger/Margareta Kozuch finished in 2nd place at 2-1.
Germany will have to wait to see if it advances directly into the knockout phase or plays in a "lucky" loser match on Tuesday, 1 August to advance. Morocco has been eliminated and finished 37th.
