Paolo Nicolai, Italy – “They are two young players but they are amazing and physical. The blocker is a big blocker and they serve so good. They play very good sideout. But we played point by point and we won. At the end of the second set, my sideout was not perfect so they won. In the third, same thing. We go up by three or four points then I have a problem with the sideout but we played a good break point so it’s OK. The wind can help you when you’re on the good side for the serve, but when you’re not it’s hard to play the sideout especially if you set very high, it’s difficult. (Winning the pool) For us it’s important, for the tournament not so much because we are at the same point that if we finished third. So now another tournament gets started.”
Oleg Stoyanovskiy, Russia – “The crowd was unbelievable. They are a very good team, that’s why they were second in the Olympics and it’s very hard to play with them. In the second set we managed to make less mistakes than the first game, especially on the serve. That’s our key. We hope we won’t go to the lucky losers, then let’s see what we get from the draw. If we play like now, it would be good.”
