Lombardo Ontiveros, Mexico – “Somebody told me that I should operate on my knee but I injected plasma instead and it’s been good. The first set was crazy because of the wind. You have to stay calm, stay focused, and when the opportunities are there you have to take them. The Cubans played good in the first set. For us, we train with this weather but in the World Championships there is more pressure so you have to know how to deal with it. We come here with confidence.”
Daisel Quesada, Cuba – “It is my first FIVB tournament. For me it is salvation. We got way behind in the first set but we fought back and made it close.”
