The Netherlands avenged a 2-1 loss that knocked them out of the qualifier at the Olsztyn Four Star event two weeks ago in the only previous meeting between the two teams in FIVB World Tour competition.
The Netherlands finishes in 2nd place in Pool G at 2-1 and Italy finishes in 4th at 0-3. Also in Pool G, Canada's Melissa Humana-Paredes/Sarah Pavan won the pool with a 3-0 record and Fan Wang/Yuan Yue of China of China finished in 3rd-place at 1-2.
Netherlands has advanced to the knockout phase and will play Wednesday, 2 August. Italy has been eliminated and finished 37th.
