Switzerland has won all three FIVB World Tour meetings between the two teams, winning 2-1 at the FIVB Gstaad Major Series and 2-1 at the FIVB Olsztyn Four Star, both earlier this month.
Switzerland finishes 2nd in Pool H with a 2-1 record and Brazil finishes in 3rd place at 1-2. Also in Pool H, Brazil's Taiana Lima/Elize Maia finished 3-0 to win the pool while Liocadia Manhica/Vanessa Muianga of Mozambique finished in 4th place at 0-3.
Switzerland has advanced to the knockout phase and will play Wednesday, 2 August. Brazil will have to wait to see if it advances directly into the knockout phase or plays in a "lucky" loser match on Tuesday, 1 August to advance.
