Jacob Gibb, United States – “They (Argentina) played last week in Poland and beat some pretty good teams. So we knew they had some confidence coming in and were a dangerous team, but it was a good win. The kid (Crabb) kept making weird play after weird play. It was really nice to have that first day bye and have another day of recovery and getting our clocks right. It’s nice for us to get through pool play slow and steady and hopefully we’ll be cleaning up some stuff for the next match.”
Taylor Crabb, United States – “Honestly I’m just taking this like any other tournament. Preparing for the team the same way, coach sits us down an hour before the match and we go over the scouting report. I just try and be prepared as possible so that I don’t have any nerves and he (Gibb) can take me to the promised land. (On the spread out format) I can go any day. It doesn’t matter to me.”
Julian Azaad, Argentina – “The game was good but at this level it’s not enough to be good, you need to be excellent. Maybe the next game we can take more risks. I like our sideout but we need more. I think our service was good but their service was perfect. Their service reception was perfect.”
