With the retirement of his Rio 2016 Olympic partner Josh Binstock following last September’s SWATCH FIVB World Tour Finals, Schachter formed a new partnership with Pedlow and the pair qualified for the 2017 FIVB World Championships via their international ranking points. With the Canadians earning a second men’s berth in the Rio Olympics via FIVB World Cup qualification, Schachter and Binstock defeated Pedlow and Grant O’Gorman in a playoff for a Copacabana spot in the 2016 Summer Games. While Pedlow will be playing in his first world championships, Schachter placed ninth at the 2015 world finals in The Netherlands. Pedlow started playing on the FIVB World Tour in 2011 with career best finishes of fifths. A 2010 FIVB under-21 world champion with Garrett May, Schachter debuted on the FIVB World Tour in 2011 and captured one title (2014 Paraná, Argentina) and appeared in four finals with Binstock
