A new team on the FIVB World Tour, Seidl and Winter were granted one of the three men’s “wild cards” for the 2017 FIVB World Championships. After playing his first eight seasons on the FIVB World Tour with Alexander Huber highlighted by a ninth-place finish at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Seidl joined forces with Winter for the 2017 campaign. While Winter will be competing in his first-ever FIVB World Championships, Seidl placed 17th and 33rd in the previous two editions in Poland and The Netherlands, respectively. Seidl’s best finishes on the FIVB World Tour were a second (Qatar 2016) and a third (Fuzhou 2013) with Huber, Winter captured a bronze medal at the 2013 FIVB under-23 World Championships with Lorenz Petutschnig. Winter started playing on the FIVB World Tour in 2013 with his best finishes being ninths.
