In an effort to raise awareness about snow volleyball in the country, FIVB Volleyball Your Way courts displayed a different setup this Friday with the Snow Festival. The space was adorned with white balloons and during the afternoon the public was invited to play and have fun with them.

“We wanted to do something symbolic to connect with the Austrian fans during the World Championships,” said FIVB Head of Development Diogo Jurema. “Snow volleyball has the potential to be very popular here since the Austrians are already passionate about the sport and the country has the perfect conditions to host snow tournaments.”

Last March, Austria hosted a three-day FIVB Volleyball Your Way Snow Festival, which was followed by a tournament where 11 nations were represented on the Alpine slopes of Wagrain-Kleinar.

This was one of several activities recently organized by the FIVB to promote the sport around the world with the ultimate goal of making it part of the programme of the Winter Olympic Games in the near future.
