Brazil defeats Switzerland 2-1

Taiana Lima, Brazil - "It was a very tough match. We've played against them on the last tournament and it was very close as well. The first set was even, but we made a lot of mistakes on the second. We won the final set because we served better in the end. Now we have a day off before we play Mozambique and our goal is to win it and advance as the first-placed team of the pool".

Elize Maia, Brazil - "It's my first World Championships and I'm excited to play here. There was a really special energy inside the stadium. I'm very happy that won our first two matches. We knew it would be hard against them. We had ups and downs during the game, but in the final set we stuck to our strategy and served really well and that was the difference. Hopefully we can keep improve as the tournaments moves on".

Joana Heidrich, Switzerland - "We started really bad in the third set, making a lot of mistakes on our side out. We did not do well on receiving and setting and that was the point that brought a lot of pressure for us. That was our main problem. They did a really good job on in block, defense and serving. We have to work on it and get back better for the next game".

Anouk Vergé-Depré, Switzerland - "The last set was a little bit frustrating because we saw on the second set that we could beat them. Our service was not that well on the third and our receiving and side out did not work as well. Now we just have to focus on the next game, we still can be second on this pool and we will go for that".
