Brazil has won all four FIVB World Tour meetings between the two teams, including a 2015 win at the FIVB Long Beach Grand Slam and two 2017 wins at the FIVB Fort Lauderdale Major Series in February and at the FIVB Porec Major Series in June.
Brazil wins Pool E with a 3-0 record and Chile finishes in 2nd place at 2-1. Also in Pool E, Latvia's Martins Plavins/Haralds Regza finished in 3rd place with a 1-2 record and Aldevino Nguvo/Justino Tovela of Mozambique finished in 4th at 0-3.
Both Brazil and Chile have advanced to the knockout phase and will play Thursday, 3 August.
