Germany defeats Finland 2-0

Julia Sude, Germany - "They changed their strategy on the second set, started putting more pressure on their serves and it was a problem for us to receive. We regained our aggressiveness and I'm glad we won 2-0. The Canadians are having a very consistent season. I believe they were in the podium in each tournament they played over the last couple of months. They have a very tall blocker, so we need to make something different and be really smart on how we play this game".

Chantal Laboureur, Germany - "We have our entire staff here and I think that's why we're playing so well. We feel comfortable with their presence here and their support help us to perform at our best. We are really forward to play the Canadians. We've played them once and we won the game, but it was a while ago and we have to see what they developed since then".

Riikka Lehtonen, Finland - "The score shows the match was really close. We were there, especially on the second set, and we could have had the lead on them. They made the little things better and that was the difference. We've played them before and it was not even close, so we are a lot better now. That's what we are happy about, but, of course, we lost, so we're disappointed as well".

Taru Lahti-Liukkonen, Finland - "We played quite well, but a few side out mistakes we made on important moments of the game helped them to win it. We tried to push the game with our serve since we knew  we had to keep them away from the net. We managed to get some digs, but we know we should have done better on the side out".
