Germany finished 3rd in Pool B with a 1-2 record and Venezuela finished 4th at 0-3. Also in Pool B, Latvia's Aleksandrs Samoilovs/Janis Smedins and Qatar's Jefferson Santos Pereira/Cherif Younousse are both 2-0.
Germany will have to wait to see if it advances directly into the knockout phase or plays in a "lucky" loser later today to advance. Venezuela has been eliminated and finished 37th.
