Tatyana Mashkova, Kazakhstan – “I am happy that we won the game with Austria because they have a lot of fans here. It doesn’t matter to us where we are in the pool as we are moving on, it was a good result. Each game we play with more confidence, and I hope next round will be lucky for us. At the beginning of the match we concentrated on our sideout. We know how we will play on defense and block in each situation.”
Cornela Rimser, Austria – “It was really windy, and one side was extremely tough to play. They put big pressure on reception on us. We had good periods when we had it under control but then the wind would come up when we didn’t expect it. It’s a pity that it’s over now for us. It’s amazing to play here, it’s our home tournament. We played two games on the centre court which we really enjoyed. We were a little bit disappointed when we heard we were playing on court two because it’s really an adventure on the centre court with all the fans behind and the good atmosphere. Maybe we could have played better until the end. We will enjoy it anyways and watching it and cheering for Austria.”
Lena Plesiutschnig, Austria – “We started out well but I had problems with the heat and the wind, and with my body – I didn’t have enough power. We had some good times but we didn’t serve that good.”
