It was the first FIVB World Tour meeting between the two teams.
Ludwig/Walkenhorst won pool D with a 3-0 record while Borger/Kozuch finished in 2nd place at 2-1. Also in Pool D, Germany's Nadja Glenzke/Julia Grossner and Mahassine Siad/Imane Zeroual of Morocco are both 0-2.
Both Ludwig/Walkenhorst and Borger/Kozuch have advanced to the knockout phase and will play Wednesday, 2 August.
