Piotr Kantor, Poland – “This was a very strong match we played with them in Porec, then we lost. The weather here and there was the same, windy too. And we are so very happy here and we have first place in the group. Jake is very good player. He is 40 years and has played 20 years on the beach. He has a very good block, what can I say? This is a strong player.”
Jake Gibb, USA – “It was battling the wind and battling their serve and they pulled it out. They played great. In the second set we started handling their serve better, started passing. We’re excited (for the round of 32), we’re a 2 seed, we should be fairly high ranked so we’re good.”
Taylor Crabb, USA – “We talked about pinching the middle on their serves and they still got us on that so that’s the bad part, but at the same time we were right in that game even with the five untouched aces. It was a back and forth battle all the way around. It was a strong wind but it was kind of swirly and gusty, it’ll calm down at times so you’ve really got to tune in on when to go for it. I watch almost all of their matches, they’re one of my favorite teams to watch. Their offense is unlike anyone else’s. I’ve only played them twice and it’s a lot different playing them than watching it.”
