In Pool L, Russia finished 3rd in the pool at 1-2 and Thailand finished 4th at 0-3. Also in Pool L, Austria's Katharina Schutzenhofer/Stefanie Schwaiger and Kristyna Kolocova/Michala Kvapilova of the Czech Republic are both 2-0.
Russia will have to wait to see if it advances directly into the knockout phase or plays in a "lucky" loser match on Tuesday, 1 August to advance. Thailand has been eliminated and finished 37th.
