Thailand to host Asian Beach Volleyball Champs

 
Lausanne, Switzerland, March 30, 2017 – Thailand will host 61 teams from 19 nations when the AVC Asia Beach Volleyball Championships take place from April 14-17 in Songkhla. 

The tournament will earn the winning teams vital AVC Tour ranking points in their pursuit of qualification for the Vienna 2017, FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships that take place from June 28-August 6. 

“This tournament has been regarded as one of the most important beach volleyball events in Asia and this year, the event will be the Asian Championships,” Ampon Pongsuwan, Chief of Songkhla Governor’s Office said. 
 
“We are now ready for the tournament. Accommodation, the competition courts and volunteers are well-prepared to make sure that all is set for this tournament.

 
“We promise to do our best to provide the best service to impress all participants and visitors during their stay with us in the province.”

At the 2016 edition China’s Chen Xue and Xia Xinya won women’s gold and Australia’s Chris McHugh and Isaac Kapa topped the podium in the men’s competition.
