Fifth-place finishers at both the FIVB 2015 World Championships and the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Bawden and Clancy qualified for the 2017 worlds via international ranking points. The pair also placed 17th in the 2013 world championships in Poland during their first season together on the FIVB World Tour. Prior to 2013, Bawden played with Becchara Palmer as the partnership netted a ninth at the FIVB 2013 World Championships in Rome and a 19th at the London 2012 Olympic Games. After playing indoors for Australia in Volleyball at the Sydney 2000 Olympics and 2002 World Championships, Bawden started her international Beach Volleyball career in 2009 when she was honored as the FIVB World Tour rookie-of-the-year. Clancy’s first appearance on the international tour was in 2011 as she netted a bronze medal in the 2010 FIVB under-19 World Championships with Eliza Hynes.
